On the morning of October 7th, our lives changed forever.

As fear and uncertainty spread across Israel, people began arriving at my home in Pardes Hanna. Friends, neighbors, and strangers gathered together, searching for comfort, safety, and one another. We sang without prayer books, prayed without prepared words, cried, laughed, and discovered that even in our darkest moments, human connection could bring light.

That gathering became the seed of Kehilat HaPardes.

​

A few weeks later, we began meeting beneath the pine trees of Pardes Hanna. At first we were only a handful of people. Soon, dozens became hundreds.

​

Today, Kehilat HaPardes is a vibrant Reform Jewish community where people from every walk of Israeli life come together: religious and secular, longtime Jews and those just beginning to explore Judaism, young families, retirees, new immigrants, and neighbors from different faiths. We believe that community is strongest when it welcomes diversity with open arms and creates space for every person to belong.

Our home is still beneath the open sky.

We gather to celebrate Shabbat and the Jewish holidays, to mark life's most meaningful moments, to study, sing, volunteer, and care for one another. We believe that prayer and action belong together. The same community that raises its voice in song also serves meals, visits the lonely, supports those in need, and works to build a more compassionate and hopeful Israeli society.

Kehilat HaPardes was born from crisis, but it exists for something much greater: to remind us that even in difficult times, community has the power to heal, inspire, and help us build the future together.
